Satoko + 3 years?!?

It was a blustery, snow day for me.

I lost my last pair of pants to the snow and sleet. They’re still thawing out in the common room, and when they dry, I can finally put them back on and go downstairs to get my dinner. Classes got canceled but the Valentine’s Day celebration wasn’t, so I gorged myself on free chocolate and éclairs.

See? That’s what’s great about Valentine’s Day. You can take advantage of the couples and get tons of free food. ^^ Another great thing was that both of my roommates left the room for the entire night to be with their boyfriends, so I was able to do whatever I wanted for the night. ^_^

I didn’t receive anything from guys, but that doesn’t really matter to me. I’m more excited about my upcoming weekend trip to JoAnn’s to pick up more cosplay material.


Suddenly, I have this urge to make a Kanon school uniform.

  1. Condolences on the pants… but you got more snow than we did. ;) Also, Shiori’s uniform should be easy to put together, and she is THE quintessential “Sad Girl in Snow” - well, her and Ayu.

  5. The East Coast got a blizzard from the snow that swamped the Midwest. I do suggest cosplaying Shiori, however… given she pretty much NEVER wore a jacket, or anything else in the snow.

    Ah well - it’s over, and I survived another year. ;)

  9. Only three years? Wimp. ;) And I think I’ve already mentioned that in the first post. Still, as Atashi noted… free food isn’t bad. Ditto the half-price chocolates for the rest of the week…

    Good luck with the trip. This world needs more Shiori cosplay.

    The only two good explanations I can think of is that either he’s in the hospital in a coma a la Kimi ga Nozomu Eien’s Haruka or you two are lesbians, a la Kanon’s Mai and Sayuri.

    I think Shiori’s normal clothes are too plain… Like a total ghetto cosplay that I can scavenge from the local Goodwill’s. I plan to make the school uniform just because it’s one of the weirder (and unfortunately, less pretty) outfits that I’ve seen.

  12. The Shiori costume from Ep 18, when she visited the school and did the “Ewww, curry?” bit? I’d say that’s pretty doable, and with some modification you could also use that for Sayuri or Mai…

    Actually, how much modification would you have to do beyond wig and accessories for those two? I think just about everyone’s done Ayu… and I expect more people to be doing it now that Kanon 2006’s hit the Ayu arc.

  13. Yeah, that would be the Kanon school uniform.
    I don’t want to use a wig unless it’s a serious cosplay… And there’s no way that I can pull off Mai or Sayuri. I just don’t have the physique for either of the two girls.


    When I choose to cosplay a character, I take his/her official height/weight/three sizes into consideration. I’m not willing to go more than 3cm above or below my natural height, so characters I cosplay have to fall within the 5′ to 5′2″ range. Ayu is 154cm (5′1″) tall and Shiori is 157cm (5′2″) tall, so they’d work for me. Makoto is 5′3″, and Nayuki/Sayuri/Mai/Mishio/Kaori are obviously taller than that. I’ve been banned from Ayu-ism by a certain person and I don’t want to cut my hair again (already had 14″ shaved off for Suzumiya Haruhi), so Shiori’s out of question, too. This is why I plan to merely cosplay the Kanon school uniform and not be any Kanon character in particular.

  14. Ayu’s… well, as I said, EVERYONE’s done Ayu, due to the distinctive coat and winged backpack. And you’re talking about fox-girl Makoto and not the person whose name she stole for herself? That’s also been cosplayed to death by everyone… :D

    And it’s not like they didn’t draw enough generic girls in the series to play off one of them. From what I could tell in the Haruhi pic, Mai’s build isn’t that far off.. especially since I’ve seen cosplayers pull off a heck of a lot of different shapes. It’s as much body posture as anything, from what I’ve been told.

    Have you considered Ichiko from OtoBoku? It’s a pretty fun series, not at all serious, and more a school comedy with one schtick that doesn’t matter all that much towards the end. But it’s a pretty generic uniform, and all she has going for her is her hyperactivity… and I won’t even dare suggest Jun from Happiness. ;) Right height, but… no.Haruhi from Ouran Host Club’s pretty generic in uniform, but still… I don’t think you’re taking suggestions here. ;)
