Yoake Mae yori Ruri-iro na -Crescent Love- Episode 12 [END]: With the Princess…

A potentially could’ve-been-good anime comes to an end.

I haven’t watched any episodes of Yoake Mae yori Ruri-iro na -Crescent Love- since the disastrous first few. I’m blogging this one just because it’s the last episode of the series. I’ve never played the game or read any detailed story summaries, so I don’t have any clue as to who the blond-haired emo guy is or why the Earth and Sphere Kingdom seem to be ready for war upon jumping into the episode.

Summary

The ending of the series is completely cheese-tastic to the Maebara Keiichi-kun degree.

- Feena and Tatsuya show up at the Moon palace while millions of people are monitoring their every move, via public TVs.
- They profess their love and hopes for the future (what else?) to the Moon king, Feena’s father, and he gets a flashback to his younger, jollier days with Feena’s mother, Sefiria.

- The king seems to give in to Feena’s request for Tatsuya to be her partner and there’s widespread joy amongst Tatsuya and Feena’s friends.
- But no, the evil blond-haired dude, Jurgen von Kruger, ruins the moment by holding almost everyone in the room hostage; the rest are his followers.
- Jurgen also reveals that he has the Massive Explosion Machine™ from episode 1 somewhere in space, ready to fire.
- Cue emo facial distortions from Jurgen as he raises a gun. I can imagine how Keiichi felt when he fired his BB gun at lolis now.
- Feena and Tatsuya, of course, launch into a non-violent reiteration of their Hopes & Dreams™, but it doesn’t work.
- Karen shows up with her trooper girls coming through the windows and resolves the hostage crisis.
- She has Jurgen handcuffed and escorted away, but he decides to make a last-minute struggle by grabbing a gun…

- …and aiming it at Feena.
- Tatsuya jumps in the way and takes the bullet, much to everyone’s shock.
- Karen knocks out Jurgen and has him escorted away again. She should’ve done this the first time around.
- The bullet got Tatsuya in the chest, and he manages to ask Feena if she’s hurt or not before dying in her arms.
- Everyone starts weeping over Tatsuya and his last act of bravery.
- A sudden orange light envelopes Feena and Tatsuya and it resurrects and heals Tatsuya.
- Feena is overjoyed at the deus ex machina.

- People’s mysterious/missing parents show up, namely Tatsuya’s father, Chiharu, beamed into the palace by a green light.
- And Serifia briefly appears via projection from Feena’s pendant.
- With the go-ahead and blessings from their parents, Feena, Tatsuya, and all of their friends celebrate.
- Fiacca leaves Wreathlit’s body.
- The war stuff from the beginning of the episode has been resolved, too. So easily.
- Many years later, crowds gather in a stadium for Feena and Tatsuya’s wedding ceremony.
- Sayaka grabs Wreathlit for one last loli-molesting session before the series ends.
- Jin gets zapped by a bunch of aliens.

- Nose-pinching seems to be the new ring-exchanging.
- Feena and Tatsuya kiss on an elevated podium, at a hundred meters from the ground of the stadium, which is a part of a floating structure between the now-interconnected Earth and Moon.

Wait…I know where the wedding ring went! The stadium structure thing is built in the exact figure of a ring with a diamond on top! OMG!
