Tokimeki Memorial ~Only Love~ (Heart-pounding Memorial ~Only Love~) looks like an all-too-typical school love story, that an ordinary guy must choose among three beautiful, well-qualified candidates for love. There’s Amamiya Sayuri, the all-around classy girl; Kasuga Tsukasa, the more eccentric, energetic girl; Yayoi Mina, the shy, swimmer girl. The male protagonist is something out of a dating sim cookie cutter: Aoba Riku, the nice guy who attracts the attention and eventual love of all three girls. Then there are the supporting cast and going-nowhere friends.

The art looks okayish, but I don’t like the angular faces. I would drop this series before I even start watching if it wasn’t for Miyano Mamoru (of Ouran’s Tamaki) voicing Riku. Then again, if that’s all I’d show something for, then I really shouldn’t start watching in the first place.
