Guiche finds Saito and immediately, Fouquet (AKA Matilda) and another one of her golems appear and attack the two. Saito activates his Rune Powers™ and Guiche summons his earth warriors to fight back, but they seem to have little effect on the golem.
Meanwhile, Wald lies to Louise, saying that Saito and Guiche suddenly left to go back, and takes her to the airship bound for Albion, which is a kingdom floating in midair. They are to meet with the Crown Prince of Albion, Wales Tudor. On board the ship, Wald promises Louise that he’ll protect her again, which causes Louise to recall Saito telling her the same thing before and feeling frustrated that he ‘ran away’ instead.

Kirche and Tabitha arrive via Sylphid on the scene of the Saito/Guiche vs. Fouquet/golem battle to lend their firepower. Many villagers also start pouring into the place to investigate the commotion. Fouquet decides that she has already done enough to hinder them, so she flies away.
Saito finds out through the innkeeper that Wald and Louise checked out earlier that day. He rushes out and asks Guiche where the dock is, but at that moment, the airship soars over them. Saito cries out Louise’s name…
In her ship cabin, Louise suddenly thinks she hears Saito’s voice. Wald remarks that she does have a thing for Saito after all. Louise tries to reassure Wald that she is only worried about Saito because he is her familiar.

Saito and his friends reach the airship dock and are told that no ship is going to take off anytime soon. As Saito grows frustrated over what to do about Louise, Guiche’s familiar, Verdandi, pops out of the ground after having tracked his (?) master down.
Louise continues to ponder over her feelings for Saito and Wald. She tries to convince herself that sticking with Wald is better because he is neither a commoner nor a familiar. The airship arrives at Albion and Wald and Louise heads into a seemingly empty church. A band of knights appear and one of them accosts Wald and Louise. He sees the ring on Louise’s finger and shows a matching one on his own. After the rings resonate with each other, the knight reveals that he is none other than Wales, the Crown Prince.

Louise gives Wales the letter that Princess Henrietta sent her with, who reads it and gives Louise a previous letter from Henrietta. He also informs Louise of Albion’s civil war that is influenced by a radical group called Reconquista.
Once Louise goes back outside, Wald asks her for her answer as to whether she’ll marry him or not. As Louise tries avoid replying, he also reveals that he is a part of the Reconquista. Louise attempts to escape but another man blocks her way. He calls her the “descendant of Void” before using a ring to hypnotize her.

Shortly thereafter, Wald and Louise enter the church again, this time in a marriage ceremony conducted by Wales and his knights. Louise struggles from saying “I do” and begs for Saito to save her.
Pounding on the church door interrupts the wedding and Saito bursts into the room, screaming Louise’s name. Louise snaps out of her trance. Wald sees that his plan to marry Louise has been ruined, so he stabs Wales through the chest before the poor prince can comprehend the situation. Wales bestows his Wind Ruby Ring upon Louise and dies.

Saito tries to attack Wald but is blown back by Wald’s magic. He realizes that Wald is indeed in cahoots with Fouquet. Saito’s anger and determination allow Nietono no Shana Derflinger to increase in power and nullify magic. He strikes at Wald again, this time injuring him, but Wald has already gotten one of the items that he was looking for: Henrietta’s letter that Wales gave to Louise. The other thing was Louise, who again refuses his request to join his side. Wald destroys the church and takes his leave. Kirche and Tabitha’s levitation magic saves Louise and Saito from the burning and crumbling place.
Louise rests in Saito’s arms and thinks back to her childhood time, when she used to trust Wald. When she opens her eyes, she realizes that Saito is kissing her. She kisses back as she and her group of friends rides away on Sylphid.

Impressions
♥ Saito ♥
Crown Prince Wales and his merry knights sure wield some weird swords. I think they’re supposed to be a sword/wand combo, but they still turn out to look plain awkward. The same goes for Wald’s sword; isn’t the tip really blunt? How did he stab Wales through with it? It must have been some great F= ma power.
Speaking of Wald, he’s a creepy lolipedofin. I haven’t gotten over how he acted in the last episode, but at least this episode provides a reason of some sort for motivating to act like a lolipedofin around Louise, a girl ten years younger than him. I’d personally go after him with Oyashiro-Rena’s cleaver if given the chance. Wald needs to die slowly and preferably Watanagashi’ed before the anime ends, or at least become the subject of a shamefest.
I made three screen shot composites of Wales, because he dies way too quickly. I’m estimating about that he only had ten minutes of live time between the first and second church scenes. I can’t say whether I like the character or not because he didn’t have much time to develop anything at all, and his looks are only a notch above Guiche’s.
Fouquet flies…?!?! Why haven’t I seen more mages flying around in Zero no Tsukaima?
From the looks of it, I’ve observed Albion to be a kingdom with nature sceneries, a church, a courtyard, and Wale’s room. No one else seems to live there. Maybe that’s why only Wales and his merry knights attend Wald and Louise’s wedding, and they’re desperate enough to have Wales to conduct the whole thing. Wales, on the other hand, looks completely unfazed by the quickie wedding and rather eager to carry on. How did Wales get his marriage conduction license? That’s a mystery we’ll never know now since he’s dead.
I don’t ever want to wake up with this in my face.

![]() Wald is ranking near Dr. Irie on my loli-pedometer now. …What the heck is he getting Lousie to drink? Lemonade? Special juice? |
